Biography

Rima Rouibi has been a teacher-researcher at the École Nationale Supérieure de Journalisme et Sciences de l'Information (ENSJSI) since 2011, heading the Media Literacy module. She defended her PhD thesis in information and communication sciences at Université Alger 3 in June 2025 and was appointed Associate Professor the same year. She holds a Magister in strategic communication from ISIC (2011) and a Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations track, graduating top of her class, and has also been a journalist at Le Jeune Indépendant since 2015. Recognized for her expertise in information verification, she has been a fact-checker for Algeria Check since 2020 and for the Libyan platform She Checks since 2024, and has been trained and certified in information verification by AFCN/Meta as well as in cybersecurity for journalists (ARIJ). She has taught at the École Supérieure de Guerre and the School of Security and Intelligence, and has presented her research on disinformation, digital jihadism and media literacy at international conferences in France, China, Tunisia and Algeria. She took part in the U.S. International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in 2015.
