Biography

Naïma Cherchem is an Assistant Professor in the Entrepreneurship and Strategy Department at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Jean Moulin-Lyon 3, an M.Sc. in Human Resources Management from the University Rennes 1, and a B.Com. from the University of Oran 2, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at HEC Montreal before joining the Canadian faculty. Her research explores strategic and institutional entrepreneurship, internationalization and cognition, with particular attention to the transformation pathways of family firms and the interplay between entrepreneurial ecosystems and institutional systems in emerging market contexts. She has published in leading journals such as the Journal of Family Business Strategy, Small Business Economics, and the International Journal of Case Studies in Management. Before joining Toronto Metropolitan University, she taught and supervised students at the undergraduate, graduate, and MBA levels at several AACSB-accredited business schools in France and Canada, and has served as a consultant to the Business Families Foundation and the Fondation de l'Entrepreneurship.
