Omar Hemissi

Omar Hemissi has been General Manager of the École Supérieure de Banque of the Bank of Algeria since 2021 and is a Full Professor in Management Sciences, teaching and research faculty at the École Supérieure de Commerce (ESC) of Algiers. He holds a Habilitation to Direct Research (2015) and a PhD in Management Sciences from ESC Algiers, awarded with the highest honours (2014), and is also a graduate of the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA-Algiers, 1987). His institutional career includes a role as Central Inspector at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as consulting and advisory roles for several public organizations, including the Military Social Security Fund and the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Author and co-author of several books and chapters published notably by Springer, L'Harmattan and Casbah Éditions, as well as articles in international journals such as the Journal of Management Studies and Management International, he was also a finalist for the Academy of Management's best paper award (2019). He is a member of several scientific committees and a reviewer for various French-language academic journals.
