Executive advisor and former Project Management Institute Vice-President
Biography
Latifa Baba is an Executive Advisor to the Canadian federal government, with more than 18 years of experience in strategic leadership and organizational transformation at the highest institutional levels. She currently serves as Special Advisor at Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada, after having been Executive Advisor at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), where she oversaw a $3 million portfolio and led major strategic initiatives, including the organization's first Housing Equity Framework. A Doctor of Business Administration candidate at the University of Quebec in Outaouais, her research focuses on stakeholder engagement and social acceptability of major public projects; she is also co-author of a published chapter in the Palgrave Handbook of Social License to Operate and Energy Transitions. A lecturer at the University of Sherbrooke since 2020, she designs and delivers training on project management, strategy and leadership for doctoral and post-doctoral fellows. A former Vice-President of Volunteers and then Strategy on the PMI OVOC Board of Directors, she now serves as Past-President, and regularly speaks internationally on megaproject governance across North America, the U.K., and the Middle East.
